When you experience festivals the way I do, you always end up leaving with more friends than you came with. Sometimes these friends are temporary, some you never see again, some become Facebook friends, and the rare ones become a staple in your everyday life. This is what happened with Chelsea and I.
Last October I attended a Halloween festival in Seattle with a group of people I like to call my Rave Family. Two of the members of my group had previously in the year, attended a music festival called Tomorrowworld. While there, they met a girl who lived in New York. Their paths crossed for a reason that day and we are all thankful they did. Once they all returned home, my two friends told me this girl they had met would be meeting us in Seattle to join us for the weekend. I’m always excited to meet new people, especially new ravers. My friends introduced me to this new person who joined our family that day. It was surreal to meet someone who lived in another country, but through this culture was able to find a place in our family so quickly. Throughout the weekend we all got to know one another better, and saying goodbye was difficult. We all said we would keep in contact, as we always tell new friends, but this time it was different. It was like the universe put this person in my life and said, “Tabitha, this girl is meant to be in your life.” And when I returned home, it was unreal how fast we became close.
After many long chats with Chelsea about life and music it was obvious we were on the same wave length. It’s so refreshing to meet people who look at the world with the same positivity as you. And most of the time that is hard to find. Most of the time I come in contact with people who can't help but see the negative in everything, here was someone who I could share my positivity with and not feel silly for knowing I’m going to be incredible one day. Since then we have created this whole world we know will flourish immensely.
